If you’re looking for things to do this weekend we’ve put together a list of the best things on offer.
- At the cinema Gabriel Byrne and Adam Sandler star in ‘Fists of Furey’. Sandler plays a goofy slacker who one day gets both his fists stuck in the anus of Finbar Furey, played by Byrne. In the hilarious rom-com they have to cope with life together while both of them romance one of the Olsen twins. It’s a must see.
- There’s a pub quiz in the Hairy Lemon tonight to raise money for people who want to cripple children so they can raise awareness for their crippled children charity. All proceeds will go on high quality iron bars. Each table costs €50 and prizes include a set of dish cloths from Aldi and a pickled lung.
- Hot new Finglas rappers ‘Jayo-Z and the Scuts’ are playing in the Baggot Inn while if you’re into more traditional rock and roll then you can check out Slimeflaps at Spirit on Middle Abbey Street, with Dickie Rock supporting.
- There’s an exhibition of artwork at the National Gallery by Ballymun painter Deco Maguire. His incredible landscapes and portraits painted with afterbirth, condensed snot and melted smegma are the talk of the art world these days with none other than Damien Hirst said to be fan.
- If you’re into theatre then Twink, Sinead Cusack and Fiona Shaw star in an original work entitled ‘Two ladies and a fishwife’. That’s at the Abbey until next Friday week.
The Irish Sentinel – keeping you up to date with all the entertainment stuff.
